Description
A delightfully playful set of hide and seek bookends in the Baroque Italianate style inspired by the Eighteenth Century Grand Tour. Beautifully made in the South West of England.
During the years of the Grand Tour before mass tourism took hold, people would collect unusual and exceptional pieces of art and craftsmanship that were not common in their own cultures, in order to portray their intellect, worldliness, wealth and standing. These bookends, inspired by expeditions and travel with origins of past civilisations and cultures, are a gift for today’s modern traveller.
