Charming set of 19th Century faux book box files. The Notaire file was made by the House of Fortin, Paris in the 19th Century. The House of Fortin was founded in 1802 by Charles-Francois Damiens producing paper, faux book files. His grandson, Charles Fortin who was awarded the Legion de Honor, took over the business in 1864. This box file has the usual wear and tear associated with an antique box file, but is in generally good condition and still very useable. Slightly smaller than A4.
There a two minutes faux book box files, one dated 1863 and the other dated 1876. These are antique pieces which have been well used, and therefore have the usual wear and tear. They fit A4 paper and are still very useable, making a wonderful addition to any bookcase for filing papers.
